HTC unleashes its Android phone, Desire 820 sporting an Octa Core 64 bit Snapdragon 615 processor
We thought that Samsung will be releasing the first 64 bit Snapdragon phone but HTC took us by surprise by releasing the Desire 820 a mid range device that runs on a Snapdragon 615 in the IFA. The Desire 820 comes with the same 5.5-inch screen that promises 720p of resolution.
The changes done under the hood are massive as the Octa Core Snapdragon 615 churns out 2.5GHz and is mated with an mighty 2GB RAM. The internal storage has also been spiked up to 16GB. The Camera unit takes shape in the form of 13-megapixel unit and the secondary camera is graced by a mind boggling 8-megapixel sensor.
The Desire 820 will run on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and HTC says it will make the deal sweeter by rolling the Android L update on priority. The Desire 820 has been fitted with a mighty 2,600mAh battery. The 820 employs a unibody construction which means that the battery is not user replaceable. HTC will include the BoomSound speakers and it will retail in variety of Glossy and Matte finished color scheme to appease the masses.
There is still no visibility on the pricing and we expect it to be in the range of 25k-30k. The phone will be made available globally starting from the last leg of September. Desire 820 looks fantastic with the neatly chiseled front panels and the screen that blends into the bezels rendering a sleek look. The rear has a cool looking Fish Eye Camera pod followed by the LED flash.
The Desire 820 will lock horns with the Google’sNexus X. And HTC might also be benefitted by the fact that they will be pitching their product in the market before its competitors. We feel that HTC will release a Dual Sim Edition for the Asian market which will take it a notch above the yet to be released Nexus X.
