LG plans on bringing the user interface of the flagship G3 to its other mid-range and entry level devices
LG recently launched the G3 flagship smartphone with a revised flatter UI which has a minimalist look to it yet is pretty functional. It comes with a wide array of features and now LG has made an announcement that it will be bring the UI to its entry level and mid-range smartphones alongside tablets launched in the second half of the year. LG will be standardising the UI across its entire line-up in future.
The devices getting the upgrade will get a simplified camera interface whose one of the most important features is touch and shoot. Other features that have been brought to the camera are gesture shot, clean view preview and a bunch of other features. LG rolled out the Knock code functionality to its mid rangers this year after launching a flagship with it last year. So it is no surprise that the flagship functionalities are trickling down in the lineup.
Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG, at the time of announcement said “With the basic principles of the G3’s UX features rooted in making complex technologies simple and convenient, our goal was to provide consumers with a user experience they genuinely need and want . Standardizing these features across our entry- and mid-tier mobile products is just a natural extension of our desire to make every LG device feel premium and unique.”
LG has also embarked upon updating its devices regularly with the latest operating system in a timely manner. The manufacturer recently received “Best of the Best” award from the 2014 Red Dot Communication Design Award for its Smart Keyboard, Knock Code and its Graphic User Interface (GUI). LG has finally started catering to its mid-range and entry level customers in quite a good manner by giving them a premium experience and we really like this move by the Korean manufacturer.
