Microsoft's new update will bring an improved Cortana and faster camera
The Microsoft Windows Phone platform came a good time after the operating systems that it is competing with but Microsoft has made huge strides with some quick updates to get it at par. The company has announced the next update for its Lumia smartphones which will be released in Q4 of 2014.
The last update brought support for a lot of new features on Windows Phone including on-screen buttons and Microsoft’s own digital assistant called Cortana.
The next update, called Denim, will bring improvements to the camera integration, a faster photo clicking process and Cortana.
Cortana can now be summoned from everywhere in the interface by uttering the command, “Hey Cortana.” Very similar to what we have seen with Google Now and it does come handy.
The Nokia Camera app is also getting an update and promises to take photos faster. If you long press the camera button within the app, the device will start 4K video recording at 24 FPS.
The Lumia Denim update is set to hit the Lumia 930, Lumia 1520 and Lumia Icon by the end of Q4 of 2014 and will seed to the rest of the eligible Windows Devices gradually. The latest from the Microsoft factory, Lumia 830, is already running Denim.
