We handpick a bunch of mid range phones that lockhorn with the upcoming Nokia Lumia 830
Nokia seems to be in a overdrive as it is gearing up for the IFA this September wherein it will unveil two devices the Lumia 730 and the Lumia 830 respectively. The 830 will be bestowed with a 20Megapixel Sensor from the renowned optical house, Carl Zeiss. The phone is likely to feature a Snapdragon 800 SoC with 4G LTE. It is good that the screen has been retained at an optimum 4.5 inches as we believe anything bigger than that has the potential to be called clumsy. Let’s take a look at the devices the Lumia 830 will be rivaling after its release.
1. HTC Desire 816
The HTC Desire 816 comes with a well-crafted body with thinned out bezels that blend into the 5.5 inch screen. It is powered by a Snapdragon 400 chipset churning out 1.6GHz and is paired with a 1.5GB RAM. Performance of the camera is excellent and is best for highly detailed macro shots. HTC has done a favor for Selfies fan by fitting the Desire 816 with a 5Megapixel secondary camera.
2. Motorola Moto X
Moto X to be frank seems a little dated now but still the Dual Core powered phone that produces 1.7GHz of computing power along with a 2GB RAM does pose competition for Lumia 830. Performance wise there are no niggles. The device sports a 10-Megapixel camera which has increased after the software updates.
3. Google Nexus 5
Nexus 5 is still one of the best package that has all the desirable attributes bundled in a package. Design wise it is bland but the matt finish and the neat rear camera pod adds an exclusive touch. The Nexus 5 is powered by a Quad Core Snapdragon clocked at 2.3GHz. The 8Megapixel camera might seem a pittance considering the number of Megapixel but it has one of the best low light imaging capability.
4. Sony Xperia T3
Sony Xperia T3 is powered by a Snapdragon 400 tuned to produce 1.4GHz and coupled with the usual 1GB RAM. The primary camera is a 8Megapixel sensor which has the potential to make the higher megapixel sensors bite dust. The secondary camera is a sheer disappointment at 1.1Megapixel. The styling is typical of Sony Xperia lineup and the Triluminous Display and Bravia Engine are icing on cake.
5. Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Dual Sim
Xperia T2 is another phone that makes into the list as it offers an extremely good value for money. It has a goliath 6 inch screen and a monstrous form factor qualifying itself as a well bred Phablet. Sony has prepped up the T2 Ultra with a 13Megapixel camera that offers good depth and finer detailing. The Ultra is powered by a Quad Core Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.4GHz. The Secondary camera is borrowed from the T3.
