How To: Remove a Person From a Photo With Photoshop CS5’s Content Aware Feature

With the launch of the new Adobe Suite of programs comes the long awaited Adobe Photoshop CS5. Packed with new features to speed up your workflow it truly is the most advanced edition of Photoshop to date. One of the new features we will be looking at today is called Content Aware. This feature allows you to quickly fill in a selection with surrounding content making it look like a part of the original image. In this case we will choose to remove a person from a photo, this can be done in less than five minutes. With the additional image enhancements this tutorial will take you less than 10 minutes to complete.

Original Image

Before we begin, download the image that we will be working with. As you can see, there are two individuals in this photo. In today's tutorial, we will use Photoshop CS5's Content Aware Feature to remove the man on the left.
Step 1

Using the content aware tool on different images produces different results. An image with a gradient background such as the sky in this image is quite tricky to work with. Open beach.jpg in Photoshop.
Step 2

We are extracting the person on the left from this photo. Using the Pen Tool, (P) Begin by making a path around the subject. The nice thing about using content aware is that you do not have to be exact when making a selection. In fact, do your best not to cut too close to the subject.

Notice in the image below how far I am drawing the path from the subject. Try to keep this distance all the way around. If you go too close, Content Aware will take pixels from the subject. If you cut too far it will take pixels from the woman on the right.
Step 3

Once you complete the path around the subject, turn it into a selection. This can be done by right clicking on the path and selecting Make Selection.

A dialog box will pop-up, make sure the feathering is set to 0px. Leave all other options as they are. Click OK.
Step 4

Now we have an active selection around our subject. In this step we will make the subject disappear from the image using Content Aware Fill. To do this, go to Edit > Fill.

A dialog box will pop-up, make sure the Content Aware option is selected. Blending mode is set to normal and the opacity is at 100%. Hit OK.

You can cancel the selection at any time by making another selection or just clicking anywhere else on the page with any selection tool.
Step 5

In this step we will remove some of the other artifacts in the image using the same process. The content aware tool did miss a spot where the subject’s foot originally was. To do this, draw a rectangle around the area using the rectangle selection tool. And use the content aware fill as we have done in the previous steps.

Now let’s remove the people towards the right of the image. Create a rectangle selection around them and use the steps we just demonstrated to remove them.
Step 6 (Optional)

Using the Crop Tool (C) lets crop the image so that the focus is drawn to the woman jumping. To do this, just crop out an area of the image that you would like to keep. Beware of the shadow that is left behind from the person that we have removed. You can use the Content Aware feature to remove this shadow but I have decided to crop it out altogether.

Click the checkmark at the top to keep this area. Photoshop will discard the content that is outside of your crop area.

Step 7 (Optional)

In this step we will enhance the photo by giving it a more vibrant look. The colors currently appear somewhat dull. There are many ways to accomplish this but we will use Color Curves. To do this, go to Image > Adjustments > Curves, (Cmd + M). A dialog box will pop-up and we will select each of the channels, R, G, B and work on them separately. Select the Red channel from the dropdown menu.

We are going to make two points on the graph. One in the bottom of the top right square, and one in the top of the bottom left square.

Once you have made these points, make sure you enter the values for each. For the top right point the Output value is 199, and the input value is 185. For the bottom point the values are 56 and 68, respectively. You can play around with these setting and adjust them to whatever you feel is appropriate. Repeat this for each of the colors, Green and Blue.
Final Image

Your image should now look something like the one seen below. As you can see, we have removed the man on her left with very little effort using Photoshop CS5's new Content Aware Feature.

Reset TP-LINK products with WPS/RESET button tip

Notice:

1.    If you reset the device, the device will return to factory defaults, you will lose all your settings. Do not perform a hard reset unless you have backed up your settings or you can do the configuration again.

2.    For these models, we could see WPS/RESET button on the rear panel/the Front Panel. To use WPS function, please push the button for less than 5 seconds, and then the WPS LED will flash; to reset the router, please push the button for at least 10 seconds.

There are two methods to reset to the Router's factory defaults:

Method 1 ：Hard reset/By pressing the RESET button

With the Router powered on, press and hold the WPS/RESET button (more than 10 seconds) until the SYS LED becomes quick-flash from slow-flash. Then release the button and wait the Router to reboot to its factory default settings.

Method 2 ：By Router's Web-based Utility (management page)

 

If you are on the management page, you could use the Factory Defaults function.

Please go to System Tools -> Factory Defaults” page, then click on the restore button and wait the Router to reboot to its factory default settings.

Note:

1. Make certain that the router is powered on before it restarts completely.

2. The default IP address is 192.168.1.1/192.168.0.1/192.168.0.254, and the default login username and password both are admin (all lower case).

3.  Ensure that the IP address of your computer is in the same subnet with the device. It means that your computer has an IP address 192.168.1.X /192.168.0.X(X is in range of 2~253), and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.

upgrade tp-link mr3020 to the latest firmware trick

Frst plug an ethernet cable to pc and the tp-link mr3020. we use cable because it's more reliable than wireless. because upgrade firmware need stability. make sure pc power keep on while doing these action. because if the main process got interupted while updating firmware, it can brick the hardware it self. so using an ups is recommended.

change the ip of your lan. in windows 7 it can be done from start > control panel > network and internet > network and sharing center > adapter setting > local area network > properties > tcp ip v4 and change the ip from 192.168.1.1-X      (X= any number from 1-253)

now open your browser and point it to ip 192.168.0.254 you will be prompted by a box asking for login

the default user is admin and password admin


on left side bar u can find system tool > firmware upgrade. choose the firmware that we already download.
when asked are you sure bla bla bla... just press ok.. then wait until the router reboot. after that check the status bar.

voila... the router just upgraded well. you can see the version changed after we flash the new firmware. that's it

Tip on How to Install Windows 8 On Pendrive

If want to install windows latest o/s on your PC using USB Pendrive then here is how you can do this. Windows 8, the latest edition to Microsoft’s OS evolution is making big waves in the PC arena. We are sure that many of you are eagerly waiting to try out the new Windows 8 Preview on your PCs, to have a first look and glimpse of what Microsoft has in store for you with the new operating system. Installing Windows 8 on your PC, which already has Windows 7 or Windows XP installed can be quite a task—backing up data, clearing space for the new OS, reinstalling, and so on.

However, before that, the pain of burning the downloaded ISO file on a DVD or on a USB pen drive to get the installation ready also makes it a killing task. We shall show you how you can relax and enjoy the complete features of Windows 8 on your existing PC without going through any of the above cumbersome exercises and run the new operating system in less than half the time.
This How to will reveal the installation of Windows 8 on any USB storage and then running the operating system directly from the USB drive, itself. You will not have to go through any of the painful set-up procedures that the set-up installer asks, while installing Windows 8 on your PC. All you need to do is download a simple utility, a 16GB or higher USB storage drive, the Windows 8 ISO file, WinRAR archiver and your existing PC. Before we begin, we would like you to know that using a USB pen drive will suffice, but since the speed of a regular USB pen drive is very sluggish, we recommend using an external USB storage drive.

Step 1

To begin with, assuming you have a PC that already has Windows 7 running and WinRAR installed, extract the file ‘install.wim’ from the Windows 8 ISO file using WinRAR. This file will be located under the folder ‘Sources’ and is around 2GB in size. Extract it to the desktop. Now go ahead and download a tiny 500 KB utility, called ‘GimageX’ from the ‘http://tinyurl.com/gimagexv2’ and extract the file to a folder on your desktop. This folder will have both the 32-bit and 64-bit utility. Choose the appropriate one depending on the operating system that you are already running on your PC. Now, before we use the utility, we have to prepare the USB drive for installing Windows 8. Make sure you have all your data backed up from the drive, as we would need to clean out the drive completely. Proceed ahead when ready.

Step 2

 
Plug-in the USB drive, wait for a while, if the drivers are not yet installed and let the system recognize the new drive. Now start the Windows command prompt and type the following commands one after the other as given below:

• Diskpart (This built-in utility will help repartition and format the new drive)


• List disk (This command will list all the drives present on your system. Note down the drive number of your USB drive)


• Select disk # (Replace the # with the drive number that represents your USB drive in the list)


• Clean (This command will wipe the entire partition table of the USB drive)


• Create partition primary (This command will create a primary partition on the USB drive)


• Select partition 1 (This command will select the primary partition for the rest of the process)


• Format fs=ntfs quick (This command will quick format the primary partition in NTFS file format)


• Assign (This command will assign a drive letter to the new partition for Windows to work on)


• Active (This command will make the partition active to enable booting)


• Exit (Closes the DISKPART utility)

Now that the drive is ready for installation of the new operating system, start the GimageX utility and click on the tab ‘apply’. In the source field, specify the ‘INSTALL.WIM’ file, which you earlier extracted from the Windows ISO file. In the destination field, select the USB drive letter that you just got ready. Let all the settings in the remaining fields be untouched and hit the ‘Apply’ button. GimageX will not extract the contents of the Install.wim file, which contains the necessary Windows 8 folders and system files on the USB drive. Note: This procedure should take a few minutes and will depend on the speed of your USB drive.
If you are using a regular pendrive, then the time taken will be longer than on any 2.5-inch external USB storage drive. Once done, GimageX will display that the process is complete. Exit the GimageX utility and start the command prompt again. We now need to make the USB drive bootable in order to run Windows 8 from the USB drive. For this, we will have to specify a command from the command prompt window. Run the following command as below.

Step 3

Bootsect f:windows /s f:

In the command above, F: is the drive letter of the USB drive where the Windows 8 files have been extracted to earlier by the GimageX utility. Remember to replace the drive letter of your USB drive, accordingly. This command will take a few seconds to transfer the necessary booting files to the USB drive. Once done, you can quit from the command prompt.

Step 4

 

That’s it! Shut down your PC, get into the BIOS, enable booting from the USB drive and restart the PC. Your PC will now boot from the USB drive directly into Windows 8. All that is needed in the next step is to specify the serial key and give details, such as username and password. Windows will be up and running in no time and install the necessary drivers in the background. You can now go ahead and configure Windows 8, as you wish and install all your software and applications, as you would on a new PC. All software and applications will be installed on the USB drive by default, unless specified with a different path.

Step 5

With Fusion 6, a new product that’s being announced today, VMware is making Mac virtualization even more IT-friendly. VMware today is also releasing version 10 of Workstation, the desktop virtualization platform designed for power users on Windows and Linux. Notably, Workstation now has a virtual accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, and ambient light sensor. This will make it easier for developers to test applications on Windows 8 tablets.

Windows Operating system is nothing but a set of instructions that load everything on your computer display such that you can interact with the machine in your own language; in the computer world we call it High Level Language (HLL).

So what should you do if you are getting and erroneous message on the screen, “Operating System no Found” or “Boot Sector Missing”. For many, first though would be, “Let’s just format the PC, everything would be sorted then”. But formatting PCs should always be limited if there are some other ways to solve the problem.

Well the way to solve Master Boot Record malfunctioning on Windows is to use utility named MbrFix.exe that can be run on PC using a Floppy Disk Drive or flash drive.

Step-By-Step Repair Mechanism in Master Boot Record

[Windows 7 Operating System Startup]

You will need a Windows 7 DVD to accomplish this tutorial. I hope you have the original DVD if you running Windows 7.

 

1.       Insert the Installation DVD and let PC boot from the DVD Drive, If you are using an older PC you would have to change this from BIOS, Press F10 or DEL when system reboots, it will take you to BIOS settings from where you can change the Boot Device Options.

2.       Now choose your default “Language”, “Time” and “Keyboard Input” on the first Windows that appears on the Display Screen.

3.       If you have done everything above correctly you will see three options >> Click on “Repair your Computer” to get into System Recovery Window.

System Recovery tool in Windows 7 allows you to recover the previous files that might have been altered by installation of a new software, game or similar stuff. Sometimes mischievous viruses are cause of Master Boot Record Malfunction.

4.       Now once your System Recovery Windows is open, choose Command Prompt and run “bootsect.exe” which is located in boot folder so change your directory to boot.

5.       Now if you have a copy of previous Windows 7 OS installed in C partition run command “bootsect /nt60 C:” you can change C with other partitions if Windows was installed in other partitions.

6.       If you are unsure about which partition your OS is installed, use this alternative run command, type “”bootsect /nt60 SYS” or “bootsect /nt60 ALL” to repair OS installed in any partition in your hard disk drive.

7.       Eject the DVD >> Restart your PC >> your problem should have been sorted and computer should now boot from Windows 7.
