Apple ties up Mastercard, AmEx and Visa for iPhone Wallet
Apple is trying to create a really wide ecosystem of services in future. One of the first steps it has taken in the direction of the same is tying up with the juggernauts of banking: Mastercard, Visa and American Express. It is doing so for its iPhone Wallet and is planning to tie up with a wide array of retailers and banks to make the iPhone Wallet service a successful and a widely used service.
The tie up talks are still private and will be made official at the launch event to be held on September 9 where Apple plans on launching the iPhone 6. Apple is believed to have installed a specific hardware in the devices which can securely store the information about the financial credentials of the user. The service will be called iWallet in all probability and will make use of Near Field Communication (NFC) to make payments.
Google has been trying to use mobile phones as a payment method in US stores for a while but the adoption has been pretty slow. But when Apple tries doing things differently, it actually ends up bringing about a change. The TouchID sensor is expected to get more functionalities in the iPhone 6 and using it for mobile payments will surely be on top of the list of added functionalities.
What the introduction of the service will do is that Apple will be able to leverage the database of financial credentials it has courtesy of its iTunes. And iTunes is just a tip of the iceberg as the retail market is pretty vast compared to what it offers. The mobile transaction market is on the rise but the issue of entering the details every now and then into cramped screens keeps people away from it. When Apple does this, the world follows so when it launches the payment service, it might even go on to become a trend as well.

- iPhone 6 Release Date
Since Apple has just recently unveiled the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C, it is likely to wait a while before it launches another smartphone. However, the iPhone 6 seems to be more of an addition to the tech giant’s line-up as a standalone device rather than a replacement for a current model. As Expert Reviews reports, it is quite likely then that Apple waits it out till 2014 to release the new handset, but instead of waiting for the second quarter of the year, releases it somewhere between March and May.
If Apple does follow this time line, it will also take away some of Samsung’s glory; the Korean tech giant is expected to launch the Galaxy S5 right about then. Given that the iPhone 6 has already been leaked, this could be a very real possibility.

The big question on everyone’s mind is whether Apple will give in to popular demand and go big on its next iPhone. Given that’s the current compact size of its handset is also much appreciated and the fact that its competitors are going large, Apple is likely to try and make everyone happy. Keeping the iPhone 5S at its current size for those who prefer smaller handsets, it is expected to up the size of the iPhone 6. Rumours point mostly at a 4.8-inch display, though some suggest a 4.5-inch or a 5-inch sizing too.
On a larger handset, Apple loyalists are likely to finally get what a number of them have been demanding for a while now: a Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Since Tim Cook had spoken earlier about not trading off on other aspects of display quality in order to go large in size, Apple is expected to strike a good balance between largeness and features like brightness, clarity, reflection, colour etc.
