Apple has started sending out invites for an September 9 launch event. The Cupertino-based manufacturer will be taking the wraps off the next generation of the iPhone at the event. The iPhone 6 is one of the worst kept secrets of the technology world off late and has been leaked on innumerable number of occasions from all over the globe. The iPhone 6 will get the much awaited upgrade this time in the form of the screen touching the 4.7 inch mark.
The invite has an Apple logo and reads "wish we could say more" with the date of 9 September on it. The iPhone 6 will be launched at it and it will be playing party pooper to a wide array of gadgets that will be launched at the IFA 2014. It will be aiming to steal the thunder from the last couple of days of the event. The bigger 5.5 inch sibling which has been rumoured for a while now might not be launched alongside it as of now.
But what might be launched at the event could be the much awaited iWatch. The wearables are gaining momentum these days with a slew of smartwatch launches taking place and Apple might just want to capitalise on the momentum. The next generation of the iPad siblings will be announced at a later date which may play host to the next generation iPod lineup and the bigger iPhone.
Talking about the iPhone 6, it is expected to be one of the best sellers to have hit the shelves. It will grow in size to keep up with the requirement of the consumers of a bigger screen device. It might get a sapphire display too as a limited edition. It will run on iOS 8 and will feature a Touch ID scanner too like the iPhone 5S. The launch would also result in removal of the iPhone 5C from the shelves and the iPhone 5S getting itself an 8GB variant. The event is less than a couple of weeks away and we'll know what Apple has in strore for us.
