Blackberry has removed wraps from its upcoming phone the Passport which has garnered lots of buzz owing to its perfectly square screen. The device has been leaked in the past and now we have a full spec sheet which gives us a claer view on what the device will encompass.
The Passport will be seen sporting a Snapdragon 800 churning out at 2.2GHz with a mighty 3GB RAM. The device has been blessed with 32GB of onboard memory and surprisingly it also comes with a microSD card slot.
The display unit measures 4.5 inch with a proportionality ratio of 1:1 set at an resolution of 1440 x 1440 pixels which roughly translates into a whopping pixel density of 453ppi. Camera takes shape in the form of a 13Megapixel sensor with an aperture of 2.0. The Camera unit also has Optical Image Stabilization and is capable of recording videos at 60fps.
The secondary camera is a modest 2-megapixel sensor which also comes with image stabilization and video stabilization which is a handy feature for those random selfies and video chats.
Connectivity features are plenty with LTE, HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, GLONASS, NFC and GPS. The phone will come in a single sim variant and support Nano Sim.
The Passport comes with a bevy of wired connectivity options including USB3.0, VGA, display port and HDMI. To use HDMI port we need to use a Slimport Adapter just like how we need to do whilst using Macbook Air.
The Passport measures 128 x 90.3 x9.3mm. The Camera Pod in the rear panel protrudes outwards with the weight coming to almost 195 gms. A 3,450 mAh battery will provide juice to this ultimate machine. Blackberry has already started accepting pre-registration for the Passport and hopefully it will hit the stores sooner than expected.
The Square shaped phone will be a boon for corporates and working people who usually depend on their devices for reading and editing presentations. The best part is Blackberry seems to have added their special tinge of business flavor to the device that will find its favorite with people who love doing their work on the fly.
