The roadmap for BlackBerry has just been leaked on to the interweb and it reveals the fact that the company has quite ambitious plans
BlackBerry has already hit its rock bottom in terms of profits and market share. The only place where it can go from here is up north. It has quite ambitious plans for future and the same can be understood by the roadmap of the company that has just been leaked on to the interweb. The company has a smartphone for everyone in the wings for a launch in future which comes across as a move from the company to capture the nerves of a wider segment.
Affordable, Classic, Innovative, and Prestige are the four segments it has zeroed in for launching new devices. The Affordable segment as the name says is meant for the BlackBerry Z3 which has already been launched. The Q3 2014 will play host to the launch of the Innovative and Prestige smartphones which will be the BlackBerry Passport and the company’s luxury smartphone, the Porsche P ‘9983 respectively.
Alongside the two new high end devices, the BlackBerry OS 10.3 will be released too with the BlackBerry Blend. The latter will bring BBM, emails and a slew of other functionalities to desktop and tablets. This would help the Canadian company create a better ecosystem for itself across different forms of devices and platforms. The mid-ranger, Blackberry Classic (Blackberry 9720) which will bring back our good old trackpad coupled with a QWERTY keypad will hit the Launchpad by November.
All the BlackBerry 10 smartphones (both old and new) will be upgraded to the latest version of th operating system (BB OS 10.3) in November. BlackBerry is desperate to restore some of its long lost glory and has even brought support for Android applications to its operating system in order to make up for the lack of application support. The company has some really high expectations from the BB OS 10.3 along with new devices. You can expect all these to come to India as the company still enjoys a decent amount of affinity among Indian customers. Let us see how things pan out in future.
