Galaxy Note 4 Design
Samsung has made some subtle changes to the Note 4. The Note 4 still resembles its predecessor in many aspects but the inclusion of a metal frame adds that much needed tinge of elegance.
The back panel sticks to the faux leather and the battery can be accessed by opening the back cover. Once you open the backcover you will be greeted with the SD card and Sim slot. The volume rockers and the power buttons rest in the same position and have not been tinkered with.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Display unit
Samsung has finally come up with an QHD phone that will take on LGs famous G3 head-on. The mammoth 5.7 inch QHD AMOLED display is crisp and at a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, the image quality is similar to G3 if not more. The screen has a whopping pixel density of nearly 500ppi which will make it one of the best displays in the smartphone market.
The 2.5D feature adds depth to the icons and other items along with a slight shadow effect - and this comes a long way in revamping the UI look. To aid this feature the display has been beveled at the edges and corners so that the screen sort of protrudes outwards.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Hardware
Samsung has always ensured that the Note series is powerful enough to take on its rivals. The Note 3 in fact still tops the AnTuTu benchmark. The Indian version of the Note 4 will be fitted with the latest Exynos 5433 Octa Core SoC in cahoots with an extremely mighty 3GB RAM complimented by the 32GB of onboard memory. The Note 4 will come out of the box with Android KitKat 4.4.4 and Samsung says that the next Android iteration, L is on the cards for the Note 4 later this quarter.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 S Pen
S Pen has been one of the most sought after feature as it comes in handy whenever you want to edit some document in a jiffy or you want to make some final touches to the presentations at the nth moment.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Camera
Samsung has not fiddled much with the camera and the 16Megapixel camera is expected to sport the ISOCELL technology which will ensure better penetration of light translating into well-lit images. The Note 4 also comes with Optical Image Stabilization technology which ensures sharper pictures with no blurs or shifts.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Pricing and Availability in India
Samsung as usual did not disclosed the exact release date of the phablet at the event, but hinted towards a potential October release/ availability. However you might not have to wait that long according to the latest report. A online retailer Unlocked Mobiles, has gone ahead and opened the pre-orders for the Sim free device at a whopping £599.98 ( Rs 60,000 approx). Well that would make Note 4, the costliest phablet in the market. Difficult to say if Samsung will be able to wing a pricing like this once again in the Indian market, given strong presence of new rivals who are promising to offer a lot more for less.
In addition the retailer has mentioned the availability of the stocks in early October.
